Almost all bliss ball recipes have at least a cup of dates to help stick them together... so I thought, why not challenge myself just a little and create a recipe lower in total sugar content, as well as creating a flavour that is 'not your norm' in terms of bliss balls.
For all the ladies out there, I think these should also be known as the 'womens energy bites' - Pink, Rosey and containing the only fruit being cranberry ( I think we can all relate to a time we have drank cranberry juice til the cows came home, and prayed it could help UTI's and all that jazz)These balls of deep pink hues are slightly tangy, with a nuttiness to counter-balance the fruity-floral flavour.WHATS THE FUSS ABOUT BEETROOT?
OF COURSE I wanted these look and taste deeeeelish, although they have a few specific nutritional boosting benefits. 1 cup wholegrain oat flour1/2 cup desiccated coconut 1 tsp Ceylon cinnamon1 cup cashews2 tbsp Beetroot powder1 tbsp of dried rose petalsWET
1 tbsp Raw Bulgarian honey3 tbsp Almond butter1/2 cup dried cranberriesMETHODBlend together all dry ingredients in a food processor until a fine crumbled flour mixture is achieved.Add wet ingredients into a food processor and blend again until mixture comes together. If its not coming together, slowly drizzle a little filtered water into the processor whilst running until mixture comes together into a sticky ball/dough consistency. Separate into approx. 30g piles and roll firmly, press and shape the mixture into balls with your hands. Place the balls in the fridge or freezer to set for about 30 minsStore in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks in the fridge, or 1 month in the freezer! Enjoy x
