These are my homemade GOLDEN take on the traditionally much loved Bounty bars! These are vegan, sugar free + of course they have a little nutritional point of difference- Golden Grind's own turmeric filled! In this recipe I have covered these in dark 75% dairy-free chocolate using my much loved UK company here Ombar. This is definitely a great alternative if you are a chocolate lover + want a healthier choice, with the benefits of real pure chocolate- Cacao.
MAKES: 10-12 BARS | PREP TIME: 10 MINS | TOTAL TIME: 30-40 mins
1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
1 tsp Golden grind latte blend or turmeric powder
2 tbsp maple syrup, honey, or agave syrup
2 tbsp virgin coconut oil
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/8 tsp salt
3 chocolate chips (see substitution below)
1 tsp oil, optional
Process the first five ingredients in a food processor. Line a plate with baking paper. Shape the blended mixture into small bars with your hands, then poop in the freezer until firm.Boil a saucepan of water + pop a heat proof mixing bowl on the top. Dip patties into the sauce then re-freeze until firm. If you want, double coat to make nice + thick.Now, carefully melt the chocolate of choice. I like the double boiler method.I like to stir in the optional 1 tsp coconut oil before melting as it makes the chocolate much smoother + easier to coat. (For a raw version, omit the chocolate chips + mix together: 1/4 cup of each cacao powder, virgin coconut oil + raw agave or honey.)
These keep well in the fridge or freezer + also are find out for a couple of hours if the day isn’t too hot!
